Notes: One of the earliest Pink Floyd bootlegs from the U.S., first released circa 1972. There are many different versions of this LP, described below.
Version 1: Earliest known pressings have the PF-515 matrix and large 1 / 2 labels with no border around the edge of the labels (see below for the second version with the borders). Insert is standard size with TMOQ farm pig at the top and "Cover by LECOR PROD. 1972 (c)" at the bottom. Very difficult version to find in any color. Typically housed in a classic TMOQ white or colored sleeve, which is thick and matted. Thought to be the first pressing.
Version 2: Much like the original above, but has double-striped borders along the edge of the labels. This is believed to be the second pressing. Very difficult to find and more desirable than the pig labels. The large insert shown below does not seem to match the time frame for such an early pressing; that said, it was purchased sealed in the early 90s from one of the old-time bootleg dealers from Los Angeles, so it may be original.
Version 3: This is the "classic" version of Omayyad with the sideways farm pig labels. More common than copies with the 1 / 2 labels, but still very rare and desirable, especially if they are complete with insert, stamp, and sticker. Some inserts have a catalog number (TMQ 71040) printed below the word STEREO. Round stickers are more common than square stickers. White labels with black print are more common than black labels with silver print.
Version 4: This version is believed to be a very rare repressing of Version 3, above. The vinyl has a base color of clear red with orange speckles, plus a varying amount of black. Most copies have little or no black, while other (exceedingly rare) copies have a "leopard pattern" with prominent black spots (only two copies are known). All known copies have white sideways farm pig labels with black printing. Very few copies of any version of this pressing are known to exist.
Version 5: This version has the same matrix (PF-515) but was pressed with MADE IN HOLLAND labels, reportedly to outwit the Feds who were looking for U.S. bootlegs. Only in the 70s. Notable for the small sideways farm pig on the label as well. The first copy shown below has a "price tag" ($5.00!) glued to the insert. The "price tag" is printed on the same paper as the insert and uses the classic TMOQ typewriter font, and is very similar to the listing for Omayyad found in old TMOQ catalogs. It may be that this copy was sold directly to the public at one of the L.A. swap meets that Ken frequented. The third copy shown below is notable in that it has a stamped and stickered sleeve, but also has the larger version of the Omayyad insert that was subsequently used for 1830 matrix pressings (see below). This may indicate that the MADE IN HOLLAND version is a later pressing, but this is not known for certain.
Version 6: Known as the "S-405" version, this strange black vinyl pressing has the same PF-515 matrix in the dead wax but is typically found with random reused labels. Notable for the "S-405" catalog number added to the top-right corner of the insert.
Version 7: A later release issued in a deluxe William Stout die-cut sleeve. The disc has a green label on side 1 and large farm pig label on side 2. Same matrix as the versions above (PF-515).
Version 8: This is the first pressing from different plates, featuring a new matrix number (1803). This very rare hybrid on blue colored vinyl features the same TMOQ labels and packaging as Version 3 above, but has the new 1803 matrix typically found on newer black vinyl pressings shown in Version 10, below.
Version 9: This is a second version of the 1803 Omayyad pressed on blue colored vinyl, featuring (for the first time) the newer "Smoking Pig" TMOQ labels and a "mammary presentations" logo added to the insert. Extremely rare.
Version 10: This is the last version of Omayyad, pressed in the late 70s. It's the easiest version to find but still valuable in good condition. Pressed in black vinyl with the 1830 matrix. Features a larger insert than the previous versions above, and the "Lecor Prod." credit has been removed from the insert. Usually found with plain white. maroon, or black labels, but some very rare copies feature the Vicki Vinyl flower labels. Reissued as Ahcid Atthak!.
